I think most therapists use a range of models these days because of all the comorbidity and the statistical manual is just sort of a guide… Ive heard therapists still using FreudIan theories and I wouldn’t be surprised because the subconscious or unconscious mind is where a lot of depression and anxiety lies so using things like mythology and dream work can be helpful to people who have tried other methods and it hasn’t worked. This brings up another new interesting “medicine” which is putting people on micro doses of ketamine and or hallucinogens? Ayawasca? I am concerned and curious what the research is saying on this new age medicine…
