For the past few years, we've been hearing "fake news" on a daily basis. Fake news is everywhere and it's all over the place. It's in our social media feeds, our search engines, and even in traditional media outlets. How can you tell what is true? Who can be trusted? Is there any way to know for certain if something is fake or not?

I think a lot of things are in the grey area! Of course, relying on Fox news or CNN is going to get you much different answers, but looking somewhere in between might be what is actually true. The best way to find the truth in my opinion is looking at the science, in particular, peer-reviewed science that has been rigorously studied, and then also parsing out what you believe is important from multiple sources. The key is not to pigeon-hole yourself into believing one person or one news outlet!
As long as you do your own research and focus on what is important to you, I think you'll come to find that it's not so hard to figure out what "fake news" is.
First of all, don’t fall fall for sensational news. And trust me, there’s a lot of it. Secondly, if something seems feels off, follow your guts. Thirdly, follow the facts and don’t let your emotions dictate your reasoning.
