Does the change in chemical levels in the brain causes any structural changes in the brain ?
Thanks for your answer
The overall topology and structure of the brain may shrink or alter due to a variety of factors.
One may consider alcohol abuse as one such factor. Researchers (Harper, 1998) have shown a surprising amount of shrinkage is certain key areas like the frontal lobes in those with alcoholism.
Other researchers (May, 2008) suggest that the chemical changes of pain-related phenomenon may also change brain structure.
