There are many cases where media portrayed serial killers some kind of glorious thing. For instance: Ted bundy was portrayed as some kind of hunk instead of murderer. My question is that why media changes the narrative, when it comes to serial killers?

I think this is often a sore spot where victims become lost to memory but the serial killers like Bundy are never forgotten.
At some sense, killers of this ilk are their own press managers and enjoy communicating with police and placing themselves within the investigation.
unfortunately the ethos of the media 'if it bleeds it leads' often means that the most horrific acts are given substantial air time.
It's not surprising that Ted Bundy was considered attractive and this went some way in helping him do what he did. So his attractiveness isn't so much an invention of the media, however there is some fascination with serial killers which can border on voyeurism.
It's certainly interesting to try and understand the often weird interest in serial killers, a certain amount of fascination is absolutely normal but some people take it to extremes.
