When interviewing a client, what are some benefits to taking notes during the session?
Payday loan with prepaid debit card: What should you know?
The use of prepaid debit cards can help you better organize your money. They function exactly like ordinary debit cards, except the amount that can be spent is limited to what has already been placed onto the card. Because of this, it's a fantastic option for those who wish to stick to a budget or prevent taking on credit card debt. Additionally, prepaid debit cards can be used to make online and in-person purchases as well as cash withdrawals from ATMs. Read more here
In our discussion in one of our psych classes, we discussed about progress notes and psychotherapy notes. Progress notes are formal, recorded description of the therapy progress. These are included in the client's records. These may also contain statements made by the client during the interview that needs to be emphasized and recorded as reference for assessment and diagnosis. Meanwhile, psychotherapy notes are more informal in nature and may not be included in the client's records. This may be some immediate notes taken during the interview to help the therapists organize their thoughts and to be able to follow the flow of conversation between client and therapist.
In addition to the excellent points made by Adeeba, notes also show a clinical process. This is vital in terms of protection for both client and therapist should anything happen that might lead to litigation.
A great example is in the series 'In Treatment' where the therapist Paul Weston often blurs the lines between himself and patients. And this leads to deficit of notes which later plays a significant part in series 3 I think.
I won't say any more about that great series in case anyone wants to watch it. 😁
Taking notes is always a good idea 💡 whatever your are doing. It will give you a broader idea of the scenario. You will not miss any major or minor details.
You can always go back to your notes if you are confused or miss out something. But again the privacy of the notes will have to be integrated. So only you can access them
