What do you think is a factor that contributes to the mass shootings in the US?
There is a chapter about this in the book: Narcissism Epidemic: Living in the Age of Entitlement
Book by Jean Twenge and W. Keith Campbell
there’s an entire chapter relating narcissism to school shootings. narcissism from my perspective and the work my parents do is curable as long as the narcissist is willing to look at their beliefs about themselves and how it contributes to their sense of entitlement…in general just like terrorism or anything, these people are vulnerable to what I call parasitical ideas/memes. These can be a belief about themselves or a belief about how the world should be or how they should be treated in the world and therefore contributes to what they are going to do about it. It is not unlikely for terrorist groups to actually target kids who feel like they “do not belong” and they psychologically manipulate and brainwash these vulnerabilities that they already have or narcissistic injuries leading them to be vulnerable candidates to parasitic ideas that cause violence...
So many factors are responsible, but the major one is peer pressure.
Ineffective gun laws and copycats due to the level of attention and infamy these mass shooters get.
@Emily M yeah narcissism basically
