Forensic evidence and stereotypes- can there be a bias in this link?
Unfortunately, as with any human endeavour bais can inevitably be a factor.
In regards to forensic psychology, and the study of criminal behaviour, one may allow socioeconomic, ethnicity sexuality or any other number of characteristics to form an idea of the individual rather than what the psychological evidence is saying.
Thus, a big part of forensic psychology is trusting the instrument of data and statistics as well as critical thinking to guide the helm of psychological investigation rather than opinion or bias.
Hence why psychological reserach with a methodology is always needed, to guide forensic psychological investigation and make it effective.
