How possible is it for forensic psychologists to thrive outside criminal imvestigations?
Very possible! A lot of people imagine forensic psychologists only work in the criminal forensic psychology realm. However, many forensic psychologists never do criminal work throughout their career. Psychologists may instead focus primarily on research, administration, or teaching at a university.
Further, there is a category of forensic evaluations often referred to as "civil" forensic psychological evaluations. Forensic psychologists, in this capacity, assess for issues like personal injury, child custody, fitness for duty (to work), parental fitness, or disability.
@Benjamin Silber, Ph.D., ABPP Thank you. I’m learning a lot from this forum already.
